About me

I decided to train as a counsellor because I experienced depression on and off for many years. It made me feel really alone, and I didn’t want others to feel the same way. It took me several attempts to find the right counsellor, so if you’ve had a counsellor that didn’t quite work for you, don’t give up! Once I found the right person, I was able to work through the causes of my depression and truly feel better.

I began my career in the Oil and Gas industry, eventually becoming a Transport Manager for a logistics company. This role provided me with valuable experience in communicating with people from all walks of life.

However, I felt something was missing and wanted to make a more significant difference in others’ lives. When we relocated to Moray, I decided to change careers and became a carer with a home care company. While this work was fulfilling, I found it limited by red tape and time restrictions. I realized that people needed more than basic 15-minute care calls. I wanted them to have the freedom to choose how they spent their time.

So, I started my own business providing Personal Assistance privately, allowing clients to control their own care packages. During this time, I supported individuals and their families through various challenges, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, cancer treatments, and end-of-life care. Although it was difficult at times, it was also extremely rewarding and humbling. Witnessing and helping families through the grief of losing their loved ones, sometimes even while they were still with us, led me to retrain as a counsellor.

I saw a need for more support in this area and wanted to help. During my training, I became fascinated with the many aspects of mental health that people struggle with. I realized I had the opportunity to make a significant difference in many lives. As your counsellor, I am committed to continuing my education to provide you with the best possible service.

When I’m not learning new things, I enjoy spending time outdoors, in the forest or at the beach with my dog, and recharging my batteries with family.
